Job Description:

Database Administrator will be responsible for planning, designing, implementation, management, and maintenance of all Database components in the Project
In this role, the DBA will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the database systems for multiple Tier server and application environment.
DBA is expected to work with both Oracle and Postgre.

Key Interfaces :

Developers/ project managers/testers/ network engineers / other stakeholders throughout the process

KRAs :

DB availability across all environments.

Key Tasks :

Define and Create Database structures
Proficient in Oracle & Postgre installation & Administration
Proficient in Oracle & Postgre Back Up & Restore
Proficient in Operating System Installation & Administration of Linux, Sun Solaris and Shell Scripting
Expert in performance tuning of DB (Oracle as well as Postgre)
Create the new DB Schema as per Product vertical
Review existing DB designs and suggest optimizations
Tune DB design to improve performance and scale
Proficient in Agile environment will be a definite plus
Query the Database efficiently and optimization of slow executing queries
Reduce data duplication
Proficient in RAC, FlashGrid and DataGuard installation and configuration.
Fix issues and provide maintenance support on established software product
Provide guidance and technical help to other members on the team.
Support production deployment of applications.

Key Skills :

Exposure with a technology-focused organization.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Sound communication and interpersonal skills - especially English language skills & expertise in presenting to customer stakeholders and coordinating with offshore / dev center based other resources.
